Game 3 in the books
South Kent Blenheim Chev team played a tight defensive game against the visiting Southwest Bullets on Saturday afternoon
Big Ben Ellis would start his first game in goal this season and what a game he had, directing the loose pucks to the boards and being squared to the shooters. This was a defensive battle as Liam and Owen would battle hard in front of our net to eliminate second chances. The grind it out line of Nate, Larkin and Luke Skywalker did their job in our zone with hard fought puck battles up the boards. The team would trail 2-0 late in the second period before Golden Jersey Romano would fire a puck from the point that would be deflected by Jacko to make the score 2-1 with 40 seconds left in the second. The 3rd period was played in Southwest zone for most of the time, Worker of the Game Darric would have a few big shifts with Johnny Hockey and Ryley helping cycle the puck down low. Claire would hold the blue line and keep the puck in for the home team. With Ryley in the box for the final 1:40 coach Matt would pull the goalie for the extra attacker and the team came so close to tying this one.
What a great effort by the Southwest Tender as he held his team in the 3rd period while South Kent Blenheim Chev out shot them 15-3 in the 3rd.
Kids hit the practice ice tomorrow in Blenheim for what should be a rewarding fun practice for their great efforts today.
