PeeWee LL1 – Joe’s Stone Cold Stunner
Kimberley’s boys in blue returned to action Monday Night versus a hungry Dresden Maroon team.

Our boys struck early with Colin potting one less than a minute into the game (Assisted by the Miff). We took a 2-0 lead two minutes later when Grayson scored a beauty from the Miff. The 2 goal lead must have woken the sleeping bear as Dresden would score the next 2 goals causing the boys in blue to get discombobulated (that’s the word of the day boys and girls). A mid-period talk on the bench with the boys re-focused them and not long after we were back in the driver’s seat on a goal from K-Mart™ with the assist again going to the Miff. A few minutes later B.A. Joe Stoner parked himself in the perfect spot in front of the Dresden net as Ricky and Alex worked their unrelenting pressure. Ricky was able to send the perfect pass right to Joe’s stick and without missing a beat, Joe buried his first goal. The bench went nuts, his best bud in our net went nuts, I think I even lost control for a few seconds. It was a goal that would be the difference in the game as Dresden Maroon was able to score one more goal before the end, handing us a much needed 4-3 victory.

It was brought to my attention recently that YOUR Trainer Mike is also a world ranked former hide and seek champion. He decided to show off his skills on Monday night prior to the game. After an hour of seeking, the boys in blue ultimately gave up the search and returned to the dressing room. Being the champion that Trainer Mike is, he seemed to have refused coming out of hiding and we were forced to activate Assistant Trainer “Ald”. Ald did a terrific job filling in, encouraging our boys to “Play Safer!” After dropping Colin off at home I was informed that Trainer Mike has been known to stay in his hiding spots for weeks. I hope that isn’t the case this time because our next game will be on Friday as part of the Families First Tournament at the WFCU centre in Windsor, and we will need all hands on deck.  If anyone is in the Blenheim arena and you smell something funny please investigate, it could be our Trainer Mike, and we really want him back. Until then,

See ya at the Rink,

Coach Scott
