Southkent Lightning 1 Rebound
After suffering a heart breaking 2-1 loss to the Petroila
Oilers in a game were they where stoned by brilliant goal tending on
Friday night, the Atom Local League South-Kent Lighting 1 team sought to
rebound Saturday morning in Dresden.
Lightning 1 defenceman Drew Rumble scored his first goal of the season at 2:26 of the first period to open the scoring, only to have Dresden Junior Kings White tie it up 19 seconds later. The Lighting however carried a 3-1 lead into the second period before watching the lead evaporate in the first 4 minutes as the Junior Kings scored two quick goals in 1 minute and 24 seconds. After that it was all Lightning. Forwards Paiton Desangher and Vincent Vaughn lead there team in a third period charge that seen both scoring hat-tricks and finishing with 5 points each. With 11 unanswered goals in the third period the South-Kent Lighting 1 team skated to a 16-3 win. In the end Twelve different Lightning players contributed to the scoring. What a great team effort.
