Atom Home Run Continue to Roll with a Busy Week
The Atom Home Run team had a very busy week playing 3 games of playoff hockey.  Although all games were close, the Southkent team pulled off 3 wins, all on the road.

The Southkent team started their road trip with a Tuesday night game in Bothwell against the Southwest Bullets.  The game was close for the first two periods, even though Southkent had 2 goals called back.  The team in Yellow took a narrow 2-0 lead into the third before scoring 4 to take the 6-0 win.  Scoring for Southkent was James Larsh(2), Karys VanDeWiele, Laurel Johnston, Trent Smith and Ethan McClenaghan.  Collecting assists were Karys(2), Ricky Falkiner (2), Josh Wolf, Dylan DeBrouwer, Trent and Laurel.
Friday night the road trip continued with a drive up the 401 to West Lorne.  The 8 pm game start didn't seem to bother both teams as this was a very close game from the opening puck drop.  Both teams traded chances but Evan White stood tall in net, earning the shutout with the 1-0 win.  Scoring the lone goal for Southkent was Trent Smith, unassisted effort.  Trent also had a chance for two as he was awarded a late penalty shot as a West Lorne defender covered the puck in the crease when they had pulled their goalie, but one was enough.
Sat morning the "road" trip continued as the Southkent Sobey's team hosted their rivals in Yellow at the Rec centre.  This was a very close game as both goalies made huge saves, Evan was just a busy as his counter part, Daniel Rodger.  Southkent Sobeys took the lead early in the third on a goal from Jamie Pynenbrouck, assisted by Carsen Sipple.  The Southkent home run team responded 2 minutes later off a goal mouth scramble.  Scoring for Southkent was James Larsh, assisted by Dylan DeBrouwer and Laurel Johnston.
The game seemed destined to end in the 1-1 tie as Evan made some saves, but not as many as Daniel.  Daniel stopped 2 breakaways as well as many up close chances.  Unfortunately, his luck would run out as Josh Wolf scored the go ahead goal with 1:10 left.  Assisting was Dylan and Alex Falkiner.  The home run struck for one more with 28 seconds left, scoring his second of the game was James Larsh and collecting his 3rd assist on the night was Dylan DeBrouwer.
This was an exciting game to watch as both teams battled all game long.
Southkent Home Run are 5-0 in playoff action and hope to continue their roll as they have 3 remaining games.
