Atom LL Home Run Begin Playoffs with a 4-0 win
The Atom Home Run team started on the first shift and continued for all three periods, defeating Southwest 4-0. James Larsh earned the shutout as he filled in for a missing Evan White.
The team came out flying and scored on the first shift. Scoring 17 seconds in was Dylan DeBrouwer, assisting was Laurel Johnston and Josh Wolf. This lead held up for most of the first period as the Home Run team played loose team defense but was bailed out by James as he made many key saves early. The lead was extended late in the first on a goal from Trent Smith and assisted from Aiden Osbourne.
The team began to pass the puck around, make smart plays in their own end and tightened the team defense. As the game went on, James was less busy. Scoring early in the second and getting his second of the game was Dylan DeBrouwer, assisting again was Josh and Laurel. Finishing off the scoring halfway through the third was Brennen Dodman, who was moved up to forward after a solid game on defense, assisting on the goal was Dylan.
This was one of the teams best games as everyone played well, passing, position play and defense all were improved.
Game mentions went to James for the shutout, Ethan for his solid Defense.
Game puck went to Laurel Johnston for her passing and the golden jersey went to Katelyn DeBrouwer for her passing and her aggressive defensive play.
Special mention also goes to Dylan for his play all game, especially for him being moved positions with no complaints.
Great effort kids, nice win.
