Atoms Perform well in Local Tourney
The Atom Home Run team iced a short bench but performed well in the local Ridgetown tournament. They lost in the semi-finals against the league's top team.
The team played well in their first two games but came up short on the score sheet. they dropped the first game 4-1 against Wallaceburg and lost a close one 2-0 against a much improved West Lorne team.
Scoring the lone goal was Josh Wolf, assisting on the goal was James Larsh.
This set up an all Southkent matchup against the Atom Blenheim Chev team. The game started out close but then the goals started going in for the Home Run team and they won 9-0.
Scoring goals for the Home run team was Ethan and Josh with 2, James, Laurel, Dylan and Brennen each scored one each. The highlight of the game was Aiden Osbourne scoring his first carreer goal. Aiden made a great heads up play pouncing on a juicy rebound and making no mistake, firing a hard shot against the goalie.
This win set up a semi-final match-up against the Mooretown White team. This was a moral victory for the Southkent team as they held the league's best team to a 5-0 victory.
