Atom Home Run Power Past Dresden 4-3
The Atom LL Home Run team jumped out to a 2-0 early lead and held on for the 4-3 win. The game was even all day as both teams traded chances, Evan White continued his solid play as of late and made many great stops to earn his fourth win of the season. The Defence played short handed at the start until James Larsh was moved back to the blueline to add some relief and skill. The forwards continued to chase down loose pucks and took away Dresden's skating room.
The Home Run team from Southkent jumped out to an early 2-0 lead. Getting the home team on the board first was Ethan McClenaghan. Ethan picked up a loose puck in his own end and skated the length of the ice and made a great move to score his third of the year. Assisting on the goal was James Larsh and Karys Van De Wiele. Early in the second, James picked up a loose puck in the offensive zone and fired a hard shot off the post to score, assisting on the goal was Karys and Aiden Osbourne. Dresden got one back early in the third but Trent Smith capitalized off a rebound from a Ricky Falkiner shot. Laurel Johnston picked up the other assist. Dresden would not go down without a fight as they scored again shortly after to make it 3-2. Brennen Dodman then picked up the puck at his blueline and rushed it down the ice and fired a bullet off the post to score his first of the year. Assisting on the goal was Ricky and Laurel. Dresden then scored with less than 5 minutes left but that was all they would get as SouthKent held on for the victory.
Once again good skating and blocked shots proved to be the winning combination in this victory. Game puck went to Brennen for his offensive and defensive play all game. The golden jersey went to Ricky Falkiner for his solid effort up at forward.
