As the weatherman says, “we’re only right 33% of the time”, the South Kent Lightning had that kind of a week. With three games under their belt, and only one win, they understand how the weatherman feels.
It was a busy week for the U18C team.......on Tuesday, November 22nd, the Lightning U18C team travelled to Strathroy to face the “B” team, only to be defeated 6-0. Then on Saturday, November 26th, South Kent faced East Lambton in the Alvinston barn to play an exciting game of cat and mouse. In the first period, the Eagles put two on the board but the South Kent Lightning re-grouped in the second and the defensemen took over the game. Within five minutes, defenseman Robert Cummings scored, with assistance from James Mifflin and Brady Cowell, fellow defensemen. Nine minutes later, Cummings repeated the act with help from fellow defenseman Cam Wellington. In the third period, Mifflin put away the winning goal, with the assistance of forward Quinn Pickering to win the game 3-2.
Sunday, November 27th saw the South Kent Lightning face the undefeated Wallaceburg Lakers only to face a 4-0 loss. The South Kent Lightning, sponsored by Taco Bell, face Mooretown Jr. Flags B this week.
