South Kent Lightning, U18 Rep zapped St. Thomas in back-to-back games, then narrowly skated their way to a win in Strathroy to earn second place in the Tier 2 Pool A division.

In the St. Thomas games, Quinn Pickering came out ahead with a hat trick Saturday following a pair of goals Thursday, as well as 2 assists.  Carson May had 3 goals over the 2 days.  Other goals were made by Cory Beecroft (2), James Mifflin, Sam Knowler and Ethan Gagnier.  Assisting in these goals were Beecroft (3), Anderson (3), Cowell (2), Kolby Caughy (2), Jamie Pynenbrouck, Carter Gates, Mifflin (2), Knowler, and Robert Cummings. Shut out "shout out" to Daniel Rodger.

Strathroy's game was a high-action, low scoring game with South Kent striking first in under 5 minutes due to quick response from Cory Beecroft, assisted by Cam Wellington and Quinn Pickering.  In the second period, Mack Anderson scored the winning goal, as twenty seconds later Strathroy scored their only goal against James Larsh.

This win brings South Kent in at 10 points, second to East Lambton Eagles with 14 points in Pool A. They are now waiting to find out who they will have to beat in a 4-point series in order to head to the OMHA finals in Barrie.
