CLEAN AND TIDY
The Kimberly Hearing Lightning were on the road Monday November 5th in Petrolia. As the players were warming up I was watching the coaching staff of the Petrolia Oilers. One of them was closely watching the Lightning players as they went about their warm up routine.

I couldn’t help but wonder if he was looking for a possible weakness with the Lightning players as coming into this game the Lightning had a perfect  7 – 0 – 0 record.  Speaking about the current record,  The Lightning could very well have stepped onto the ice with the “Another easy Win coming up” attitude, and with there opponent mired in the basement of the standings, this could have easily been the situation.   But instead it was “Lets have fun”.  “Lets go out and play our game”.  It was with this attitude that the Lightning began the first period.   Right off the opening face-off Lightning forwards displayed one of their biggest attributes….. Speed!  And speed puts your opponent behind you. At least until one of them puts their stick into your feet and trips you.  And that’s what happened.  Oilers forward #13 Cody McArthur fell behind and while trying to knock the puck of Lightning forward Lukin Paiements stick, tripping him just 17 seconds into the game. Petrolia did well playing short handed and manage to kill off the penalty.  Lightning forward Jacob Hamilton put the first goal of the game on the board when he scored unassisted at the 4:43 mark and Eric Romano made it 2-0 just 24 seconds later as the Oilers were still trying to regroup from the first goal.  The Oilers pulled themselves together and managed to get some great opportunities hitting two posts and getting robbed point plank by Lightning goalie Lucas Vidler before Sam Knowler scored unassisted at the half way mark of the second period extending the Lightning lead to 3.  Less then 90 seconds passed and Lightning forward Brady Pook slipped one past Oilers goalie Nicolia Anderson. The Lightning would go on to score two more goals in the third as Eric Romano scored his second of the night at 10:20 and Brady Pook would score his second of the night assisted by Josh Flemington with 21 secconds left in the game.

The player of the Game as chosen by yours truly was Lightning Goalie Lucas Vidler.  The Final score:  Petrolia 0 – Lightning 6
