CLOUD HANGS OVER MOORTOWN
Lighting put themselves down a man very early in the game on Saturday December 22nd when #13 Camden Blackburn took a penalty for interference just one minute in.

However that never slowed the Lightning offence as #16 Jacob Hamilton scored shorthanded when he took a nice feed from #7 Sam Knowler .  And the lightning just kept pushing.  At 3:41  Jacob Hamilton spotted  Sam Knowler setup on the left and tried to hit him with a pass but the puck bounced over his stick. Knowler quickly recovered the puck a sent it back to Logan Fraser on the blue line and Frasers shot from the blue line surprised everyone including  Mooretowns goalie #1 Nathan Sylvester and went right through the pads.  Then as the period was winding down and with 12.8 seconds left, Lightning Defenseman #6 Ryelly Hill stopped a clearing attempt, moved it ahead to #13 Camden Blackburn . Blackburn’s shot never found the net but came right out to #8 Brady Pook and he picked the low stick side to make the score 3-0 after the first period of play.
In the second period a storm cloud came in and just hung over  Mooretown’s side of the rink. Lightning struck hard and fast. First it was  Jacob Hamilton scoring his second of the night at 8:02 unassisted.  Then, Just over one minute later Camden Blackburn had another one of his shots blocked and Brady Pook was once again quick to deposit the rebound and score his second of the night. Hamilton added two more goals after that. One at 6:02 and the other at 3:22. Both assisted by Sam Knowler and #10 Ayden Larkin. Then Brady Pook would complete a hattrick after #14 Lukin Paiement would dig the puck from the corner and Camden Blackburn would feed Pook the puck with 1:09 remaining.  However the storm was still not over. Blackburn would then score with 20.7 seconds on the clock when Lightning forward #4Ethan Jamieson sprung him at the offensive blue line.
Going into the third leading 9-0 Lightning coach Lonnie Hamilton began mixing up his lines a little, giving his defensive players a chance to play forward positions and his forwards , defensive positions. For a team disciplined to play their set positions this was a awkward thing to do.  Moortown was able to take advantage of the disarray scoring 48 seconds into the third when #10 Shane Knight found himself with the puck on his stick right out in front of the Lightning goalie and he made no mistake when he shot high stick side to beat  #1 Lucas Vidler for their first goal on the game while #2 Ryan Japp and #15 Thoryn Reeve were credited with assists. Forward #4 Ethan Jamieson was the first to score for the Lighting in the third when he was setup just left of Moortowns goalie buy Jacob Hamilton now playing right defence at 10:54.  Mooretown was quick to reply when Thoryn Reeve once again retrieved  the puck from the corner, bounced it off the net out to #6 Morgan Matuzic, and his shot was tipped by #2 Ryan Japp past the Sprawling Lucas Vidler. Then in the last minute of play and with the clock ticking down Lightning forward (Now playing Defence) Sam Knowler’s second clearing attempt went off the boards out to center were Defenseman (Now playing forward) #5 Josh Flemington took the puck in all alone and scored high stick side for his first goal of the season. Final score: Lightning 11 – Mooretown 2.
