Last weekend marked the beginning of a new hockey
season for Local league Peewee
Hockey. The Dresden Jr. Kings Maroon’s
were in town to play the first game of the season against your Kimberly’s
Hearing Lightning and mark the beginning
of this years rivalry.
Neither team wanted to give an inch and traded goals in both the first and second periods. Lightning goalie Lucas Vidler was stellar in net keeping his team close. In the third period Dresden ran into some penalty trouble and found themselves fighting hard to fend off the lightning power play. After that, it looked like Dresden just ran out of gas and the Lightning went on to score 5 goals in the third to walk away with the game. In the end Eric Romano, Sam Knowler, Jacob Hamilton & Camden Blackburn had multi point games. The final score was Lightning 8 and Maroon’s 3. The player of the game was Lighting goalie Lucas Vidler.
