SKMHA Select Program 2017-18
SKMHA is once again investigating whether there is interest in running a select program again this year. A poll on the main web site is being conducted. Parents who are interested are encouraged to participate in the poll and fill out the tryout application.
This year, because of player distribution, it is feasible only to possibly offer the select program
in the Novice and Peewee divisions depending on interest.
The coach selection will be done through the coaches committee and a player tryout will be held to select the roster.

Those interested in filling roles on the team are also asked to indicate that on the form. If enough registrations are received and there is enough interest then SKMHA may decide to roster a team(s) this year.
A Select team is comprised of Local League Players, the selected players are then also rostered on the select team, this is in addition to their local league team. The player continues to play for his local league team, but then can also practice, play exhibition games and tournaments with the select team.
Because a select team is fielded after Rep & LL schedules are set, ice times for the team are typically not regular and are based on ice availability.
NOTE: A SELECT PLAYERS FIRST RESPONSIBILITY IS ALWAYS TO HIS LOCAL LEAGUE TEAM, ANY CONFLICTS IN SCHEDULING BETWEEN SELECT AND LOCAL LEAGUE IS ALWAYS RESOLVED IN FAVOUR OF THE PLAYERS LOCAL LEAGUE TEAM.
The fee for the select squad is TBA if and when it is decided to run a select program.
