Hello Parents, I'm the trainer this year for the team among other things. I just took the Trainers course and a few things I'd like to mention.
- We need to create an Emergency Action Plan, therefore if anyone has any sort of medical, first aid or cpr training and will be attending most games and practices and is interested in volunteering to help let me know. - All our players should try their best to have their own water bottle, the days of sharing water bottles is over. Having said that we will provide water bottles at practice in case someone forgets one.
- Remind your child to stay hydrated. They should drink at practice even if they are not thirsty.If your child is thirsty their performance has already been effected.
- Parents please check your child's equipment and make sure that it fits properly and not damaged or cracked, etc. Our first priority is player safety so I will be keeping an eye out in the dressing room for damaged or ill-fitting equipment.
- If equipment needs replacing, let me know as I and other parents have lots of extra equipment laying around so we might be able to help out.
- Fair Play is another cornerstone of the SKMHA, we like all teams will have a zero tolerance of bullying and harassment.
I'll got a bunch of documents from the trainers and coaching courses. I'll review them and have some handouts for Saturday's meeting. Hopefully we will have a safe and injury free season.
