Game 2 of the Back to Back
After a 7 minute scrape and a 3 minute warm up the troops looked to continue their solid team play as they took on their building rivals LL2, this time as the visitors.

The old saying if it's not broke don't fix it applied to the 2pm lineup. Coaching staff ran the same lines as the 1-1 tie and the Athletes didn't disappoint their families in the stands. The teams would battle back and forth all game scoring goals like a chess game never taking more than a 1 goal lead and never more than a few minutes at a time. With 7 minutes to go in the 3rd Jacob Hamilton would find another gear as he would score the tying goal, assist going to Tinline and Kalp. Liam "Worker of the Game" Davies would score his 2nd of the day while putting himself in the net on a hard working drive. Assist would go to Devin Lackie and Aidan Barnes and put us up 2-1. 22 seconds later LL2 would tie the game up. After controlling the play for the next 97 seconds Tinline would bury a goal with assist going to Hamilton and Kalp. With only 2 minutes left on the clock LL2 would once again tie the game. Cooper Minnie would take a tripping penalty in the 1st as he prevented a breakaway, Eric Romano would also take a tripping penalty in the late stages of the first period and Jackson Kalp would take his second Body Checking penalty of the day while working in the corner on the defensive side of the puck in the final stages of the 2nd period. The boys played great on the PK killing 4 straight penalties. Conner Lackie, Aidan Osborne, Devin Lackie, Carsen Sipple and Trenton DeCook logged huge minutes and were big contributors today on the ice. Daniel Rodger continued his solid play controlling the rebounds and holding onto loose pucks so the team could change. The last time we played them we lost 7-4, the group played to an honest 3-3 tie today and the Coaches rewarded them with slush Puppies from the Canteen. Of course Romano would win the shooting challenge for the week as he fired over 500 pucks. Grab your seats early and your 50/50 money, as tomorrows last home game of the regular season promises to be a good one.
