The Goal That Was Called Back
After being 8 days off the ice the group skated against a Mooretown team that brought their A game.

Like written on the white board in the coaches room, the opening faceoff went as planned. With Liam Davies and Cooper Minnie starting on the blue line Aidan Barnes would have Ashton Clark and Carter "Worker of the Game" Barnes as his wingers when the puck dropped on opening faceoff. Ashton Clark would get the puck over to Carter where he would score on a tic-tac-toe passing playing just 52 seconds into the game. We would bury another goal when line mates Jackson Kalp and Eric Romano would send a free wheeling Jack Tinline in all alone on the keeper. After the 1st period Away team up 2-0. Heading into the second period was just the like first, with defence pairs of Conner Lackie and Trenton DeCook starting with Jacob Hamilton in the middle with his wingers Carsen Sipple and Aidan Osborne the boys would cycle the puck like crazy in the offense zone resulting in the Mooretown keeper to make many key saves. Jack Tinline would take an Ashton Clark pass and went bar down on the tender, Conner Lackie also drawing an assist on the play. Bash Brother Devin Lackie used his size all night standing in front of the Mooretown keeper. After going on 3-0 Mooretown would battle back and score 2 goals in the middle frame. After a quick regroup in between periods the team came out flying in the 3rd period. We would hem them in their zone for the first 5 minutes before allowing Mooretown out of the zone. With just under 8 minutes to go in the period a Mooretown forward would skate through our defence pair and put one behind Daniel Rodgers who played a solid game and kept us in it. With just 3 minutes left on the clock Carter Barnes would snipe what should have been the go ahead goal. The ref waved it off as a Mooretown player was hurt on the play. Final Score was a 3-3 tie as the team looks to get back on the practice ice this week.
