Two For the Road
TEAM 1 played Team 2 on Friday evening that ended in a 4-4
sister kisser.
The boys focused on trying to continue making crisp tape to tape passes and supporting plays. Pooker played his 2nd game in the net and continues to improve. Goals were scored by Robert with a nicely cycled puck from the point and then 3 by JP. Assists went to JP and Colin each with one.
TEAM 1 then went on to play the Southwest Bullets in Glencoe on Saturday morning. This game was a passing clinic. Assists were everywhere. Zach led the scoring with his first hat trick of the season, Isaac scored his first goal ever, JP had a pair, Colin, James and Robert each had one. Assists went to James with 3, Carter with 2, Ricky with 2, Isaac, Parker, Alex and Colin each with one. The Final was 9-3 with Pooker getting his first win as a goalie. One of the remarkable plays that doesn’t make the score sheet was when Carter identified he was offside and put himself onside to keep his play alive, the most important part of this is that he did it without any one telling him.
Our final game of the regular season is vs Team 2 on Sunday at 7:10pm in Ridgetown. We will be gearing up for the playoffs and for anyone keeping track JP is approaching a milestone goal. He is sitting at 48 goals on the season. Also James, Parker, Pooker, Colin and Jamie are our team iron men, not missing one game all season so far. Tomorrow's game will be an interesting one.
