SKMHA Return to Play Update
SKMHA has been approved to begin on ice activities. A schedule up to September 20 will be posted soon. All scheduling beyond Sep. 20 is unknown at this time. We will be receiving our ice allocation from the municipality soon. Further scheduling will be posted soon after we receive that information.
Player “bubbles” (Divisions) have been created with 40 or less players in each bubble.
Players will be divided into 2 Groups per bubble for practices. After the first 2 ice sessions,
coaches will create 4 teams per division. Players will only play within that division until such time
as restrictions change.
The divisions were created based upon the premise of having 4 teams
per division. Players were placed in divisions with regard to the level the player was rostered
last season, and the player’s past history. SKMHA has tried to create groups with players of
similar ability. The division names are strictly names for scheduling purposes, they are not age
groups. There are many players in every division where their age will not coincide with the
division name.
Players will return to their “age division” when normal hockey returns with full
size teams.
It won’t be perfect, but at least the kids are back on the ice playing the game they
love.
