Expansion of Cross-Ice Initiative to Novice Divisions - Your Help Needed SKMHA Members!
Our Shamrock Rep become aware that Hockey Canada at their November meeting is considering expanding cross ice to the 2010/11 birth year, which would effect Novices already playing full ice. The deadline to launch an objection before this meeting is noon Friday October 13th.
Because time to mount an objection to this plan is short, the Shamrock League has created a survey where concerned members can vote and lodge their objection to this plan. Hopefully if we can get enough input we can make them reconsider at their meeting. The survey is one question and allows you to lodge your opinion. Please take the time to participate and please share the survey link with others so that we can get the most amount of support before the deadline. thanks.
Recently it was discovered that Hockey Canada at their winter meetings in early November will be discussing and placing on the agenda the Cross Ice program and it's possible expansion into the 2010/2011 birth years.
As a membership in principle, we agree, with Hockey Canada's implementation of cross ice initiatives however we believe that the program should be implemented at a specific birth year allowing that group of players to grow within the program and not to be changed on a year by year basis.
It is with hopes that a general consensus will be reached and as a result a formal recommendation will be presented in writing to Hockey Canada through the Shamrock Hockey League and surrounding memberships
