Upcoming Game Schedule! February and March/April
We have been working to schedule some games with other centers in the coming months. Things are still in the works therefore not everything is set in stone. Below will outline some important dates. The website will soon be updated to reflect some of these. Again, it is important to subscribe to to the site. This will automatically update the calendar on your phone and send notifications.
Beginning in February we will be hosting and expecting to visit other centers to increase our competition and the excitement for the kids.
To keep things simple for now, we can simply say that we will be hosting teams on Saturday nights either 5:30 or 6:30. We are well on our way to securing up matchups for all of February and working on March. The details on games will be posted soon, but for now keep your Saturday evenings open.
Tourneys/ Jamborees
We as coaches have decided that tournaments/ jamborees will be a great way to get the kids into more games and reward them for their hard work in practice. We currently have the following tournaments either booked or on the waiting list. Please keep in mind these are not mandatory, please make it to what you can but we completely understand.
South Point (Leamington) Feb 17-20 Currently on waiting list but looking promising
Plattsville March 14th Single Day Tournament
Point Edward March 19th ( Sarnia area) - Single Day
Windsor - Tim Hortons Fun Day WFCU Center March 25th - Fun Rec Skate and Activities followed by complimentary tickets to the Spitfires game. More to follow as need Numbers ASAP.
Simcoe - March 31 -2 - This will be our Year End tournament complete with the option to do the hotel stay for those that wish to. Rooms are booked in under " South Kent Hockey U7 Canadiens" for March 31 to April 1 at the Travelodge in Simcoe. Please reference the team when booking. Reservations need to be made before February 15th. Rate is $139/ night. Indoor Pool. If there is any problem booking please contact me
Unfortunately, tournaments come at a cost. We have options here. We can pay per family. We can fundraise ie. donation jar at door of games. We welcome volunteers with ideas. If anyone is concerned about the fees you can discretely approach minor hockey and we can arrange aid. If this is the case please contact Chris Knight and will take care of things.
Additionally, we need to make sure everyone has done all there training. If you have not completed your Respect in Sport etc. your child will not be allowed on an OMHA roster and will not be allowed to play in any tournaments. Please make sure you have this completed. If you are uncertain, please contact me and I will put you touch with right people.
