Only 1 Point for U18 Lightning
South Kent Lightning U18 Reps, sponsored by Taco Bell, had their hands full this past week.

On January 21st, the Lightning visited Wallaceburg Lakers at the Walpole Island arena for a tough battle only to finish in a tie.  Home team Lakers struck late in the first period to take the lead.  On a power play in the second, Mack Anderson found an opportunity to zing one past the goalie to tie up the game.  Assisting on that goal was Cory Beecroft and James Mifflin.  Only minutes later, Wallaceburg took the lead again with Dexter Vancoillie scoring his second for the game.  Third period, Jamie Pynenbrouck banked one off the boards to tie up the game, assisted by Braydon Segeren and Trent DeCook.  Although both teams played hard, they couldn't break the tie and ended up with one point each.

On Monday, January 23rd, the Lightning hosted East Lambton Eagles in an extremely intense, penalty-filled game.  Mack Anderson opened the scoring in the first period with help from Quinn Pickering and Cory Beecroft, but that was the only point on South Kent's side of the scoreboard.  Within two minutes, East Lambton tied up the game but the Lightning held them off from scoring any in the second period.  Third period, however, seemed to be a challenge.  With many power plays, South Kent couldn't get one past their goaltender.  East Lambton scored three more in the third to end the game in a 4-1 loss for the Lightning.

South Kent's final regular league game will be played on January 31st against Mooretown Jr. Flags.
