A Win and a Tie for U18 South Kent Lightning Rep
After a long weekend, the U18 Rep team, sponsored by Taco Bell, hosted undefeated Wallaceburg Lakers on home ice and it proved to be to their advantage.

Opening the scoring in the first period after only three minutes, Cory Beecroft struck with Mack Anderson assisting. Wallaceburg were able to get one past Daniel Rodger five minutes later, but the Beecroft/Anderson duo duplicated their earlier efforts for the go-ahead goal. In the second period, Quinn Pickering added a little insurance with his unassisted goal and Anderson, assisted by Beecroft, found an opportunity to add another to the scoreboard going into the third up 4-1. The Lakers’ efforts were strong in the third and brought them two more goals, but it wasn’t enough to keep their undefeated record as the Lightning won 4-3.

On Friday, Dec 9th, the Lightning travelled to Forest to face the Lambton Shores Predators. South Kent started off very strong, scoring three in the first period, against the Predators two. Cory Beecroft managed two of the goals with defenseman Trent DeCook scoring one. Assisting DeCook was Braydon Segeron and Ethan Gagnier assisted one of Beecroft’s goals, the other was unassisted. Mack Anderson added a safety net goal ten minutes into the second period, assisted by Pickering and Beecroft, but 30 seconds later, the Predators were within reach of a tie, and that they did in the third period. Final score 4-4.

This week, the team faces Dorchester Dragons, Mooretown Jr. Flags and Ilderton Jets.
