On Monday, October 24th, the South Kent U18 Lightning shot their way into a tie with the Lucan Irish.
Lucan opened up the game scoring within the first minute, followed less than a minute later by South Kent’s first goal, by Quinn Pickering, unassisted. Then with only a minute left in the period, Ethan Gagnier passed the puck to Cory Beecroft who found the opening to take the lead. In period 2, Lucan was able to get back-to-back goals within one minute to regain the lead. But at the 4:33 mark, Carson May got a goal, assisted by Cam Wellington to once again tie it up. The third period became a little faster paced and a little more aggressive as South Kent took the lead early on with a goal by Braydon Segeren, assisted by Quinn Pickering and Jamie Pynenbrouck which didn’t last long as the Irish tied it up two minutes later.
In the end, it was a tough battle but neither team could get ahead. South Kent Lightning U18 team is sponsored by Taco Bell. The U18 team's next game is Monday against South Huron Sabres in Blenheim.
