South Kent Lightning U18 Results
The South Kent Lightning U18 team, sponsored by Taco Bell, had some mixed results this week, ending it with the winning the Consolation Round at the tournament in Kincardine.

Monday, October 17th opened their busy week with a home game against Ilderton Jets. Ilderton opened up the game with 3 goals in the first period, followed by 2 in the second. Perserverance is key as Cory Beecroft showed them with 2 goals in the third, one assisted by Robert Cummings, to try to catch up but to no avail. Unfortunately, the team lost to Ilderton with a final score of 5-2.

Wednesday, October 19th took the team all the way up to South Huron (Exeter), only to come home with a tie. It was a fast paced game with South Huron scoring in both the first and second periods. Not to be outdone, South Kent Lightning's Braydon Segeren scored early in the third, assisted by Anthony Franze. Kolby Caughy put one away at the 6:20 mark, assisted by Quinn Pickering to tie the game.

A U18 tournament in Kincardine had the team scrambling for points. Friday's game was close against the home team of Kincardine Kinucks who pulled off the 2-1 against the Lightning. The only goal was scored by Pickering, assisted by Beecroft and Anderson. Saturday's 9:00 am game was against Shelburne Wolves and ended in a 3-2 win for South Kent. The first period goal was scored by Beecroft, assisted by Mack Anderson; second period goal was Anderson unassisted; and third period goal was earned by Segeren, assisted by Caughy & Pickering. They played again at 2:15 pm against Walkerton Capitals with a loss of 2-1, with Segeren scoring, assisted by Pickering. Finally, Sunday took them to the consolation round, facing the home team of Kincardine Kinucks again. This game was the most interesting of the weekend, in that it went into overtime, then a shoot out to determine the winner. Cory Beecroft put it past the goalie for the shoot out to win the game. Others scoring goals were Jamie Pynenbrouck, Beecroft, and Caughy. Caughy's goal was assisted by Beecroft and Anderson.

The team faces the Lucan Irish Monday, Oct 24 on home ice in Blenheim
