The South Kent Lightning (Taco Bell) Bantam Reps have finished their regular season with a .45 average, 18 points and a 7-9-4 record for 2019.
On December 17th, they travelled to Wallaceburg to play the Lakers, only to come home with a 4-0 loss. On December 20th, the Lightning blew away Dresden Jr. Kings on home ice in Ridgetown. Scoring for South Kent were Cory Beecroft, Aiden Rigby, Mac Anderson, Brett Davidson and Jamie Pynenbrouck. Assists were earned by Kolby Caughy, Anderson, Cam Wellilngton, Quinn Pickering, Braydon Segeren and Derek Schieman. Rigby's goal was unassisted. The only goal for Dresden was scored by David Williams.
December 22nd was the final regular season game, in Mooretown vs the Jr. Flags. It was a tight, back and forth game, but Mooretown came out ahead with 3 goals to 2. Mooretown drew first blood with a goal early in the first, but within a minute, South Kent answered that call. Scoring for the Lightning was Cory Beecroft, assisted by Kolby Caughy. Mooretown then put two away in the second. In the third, Jamie Pynenbrouck scored on a breakaway but the Lightning were unable to tie it up. Next, the team will be playing in the South Kent Ground Hog Tournament before heading into playdowns.
