The South Kent Lightning Bantam Reps (sponsored by Taco Bell), blew away Dresden in a 7-1 final on Saturday afternoon in Dresden.
Taking advantage of a power play in the first period, Cam Wellington and Mac Anderson set up Kolby Caughy for the first goal of the game. In the second period, Caughy scored again, with Anderson's and Aiden Rigby's assists. The next goal was earned by Quinn Pickering with Rigby's and Carter Gates' help.
Onto the third period where the Lighting scored four more, offset by only one scored by Dresden. Anderson started off the third period scoring early on, with Rigby and Cory Beecroft assisting. Within 2 minutes, Jamie Pynenbrouck put one away, with help from Ethan Gagnier and Derek Schieman. Three more minutes pass when Rigby gets a breakaway from defense to earn a goal, assisted by Brett Davidson and Pickering. Two minutes later, Dresden's David Williams was able to put one past Daniel Rodger who was having an amazing game, to get on the scoreboard. Finally with only 30 seconds left in the game, Schieman got the last goal, assisted by Pynenbrouck and Gagnier. A great effort by the entire team.
This week, the Lightning take on Wallaceburg and Dresden.
