Southkent Peewee's go 2-1 over a busy weekend
The Southkent Lightning Peewee LL team put some miles on their vehicles this weekend as they played 3 away games, winning the first 2 before dropping the last one.  Friday night they won in West Lorne 3-2, Saturday afternoon they won 7-4 in Dresden before loosing 6-3 Sunday in Mooretown.

Friday night, the red hot Lightning travelled to West Lorne for a late night game.  The Southkent team jumped out to an early 1-0 lead when Nicholas Brown jumped on a rebound and scored his first of the year.  Assisting was Cash Palmateer.  Both teams continued to battle and West Lorne was able to tie it up early in the second.  The one goal lead was later restored when Brennen Dodman rushed the puck, feathered a nice pass the Cash for the give and go.  Cash made no mistake on the return pass and Brennen found the back of the net.  Later in the second, this dual connected again as this time Cash scored with Brennen assisting.  West Lorne scored early in the third to make it 3-2 lightning but that was as close as they would get as Evan White was strong in net and the Peewee's continued to press.
Saturday, the Southkent boys travelled to Dresden to play the Dresden Marroons.  This turned into a chippy game as both teams battled for ice with Dresden getting called for 14 mins in penalties while Southkent was whistled for 8 mins.  Dresden jumped out to an early lead before the local kids could get their legs going, but Sotukent with their full roster began to wear the home team down, winning 7-4.  Scoring for Southkent was Cash Palmateer (2), Dylan DeBrouwer, Ethan Rumble (2) and Jake Legue with 2.  Collecting assists was Dylan (3), Jake(2), Cash, Sam Thompson(2).  Evan was strong in net and will have to be again as Southkent will host Dresden Maroon Saturday in Blenheim.
Sunday, unfortunately the win streak came to an end in Mooretown as the Peewee's lost 6-3.  The boys played hard all game and was mounting a comeback before the game was called due to curfew with 4 minutes left.  Scoring for Southkent was Jake with two and Brennen with one.  Assisting was Nicholas Brown and Cash Palmateer.
Keep up the hard work kids.
