St.George Tournament Champs!!!
The South Kent Lightning Novice Rep team travelled to St.George on the weekend to partake in their first tournament of the year and came home victorious with the B Pool Championship!!!
Our first game on Friday night was against Ayr and was a tight fought battle. Ayr broke the 0-0 tie with only 3 minutes left in the game and scored an empty net goal to take the win 2-0. Saturday morning we faced Schomberg and the Lightning came out on fire, taking the win 6-1. This placed us in the B Pool Championship on Sunday against Lambton Shores. (There were 4 division Championship games, an A, B, C and D). The game was back and forth but with the hard work of the Lightning in the third period, we came out on top with a 5-2 win. A great way to finish off a weekend with players and parents bonding at the hotel and team meal at the Moose House! Great job Lightning bringing home the very first Tournament Championship for the South Kent Lightning Minor Hockey Association!!!
